Default printer/cutter driver help please

hi i'm using a roland cx-24 cutter and my driver has gone awol

it usually does do this every 100 cuts or so

this time though, i try to install it and is still says "unable to access printer driver"

is there something i'm doing wrong?

i have to confess i don't normally re install it, the person who normally does has gone awol too!

so, you might as well say i don't have a clue at what i'm doing

obviosly i have options as to where what port to use for the printer but which one do i use, there's loads!

it's running off a serial port, i have the right driver, i uninstall all other drivers first, i restart the comp after and i thought i had the right port (LPT1) but it's not playing

just to let you also know it runs fine from the laptop, but not from my main comp, which is where all my files are! (

Ali

you say its connected to a serial port, but as far as i know lpt1 will be a parallel port.

What size is the connection, a serial port is 9 pins a parallel is 25.

Andy.

Ok so thats your parallel port then, so you are looking for your driver for that and not a serial com port.

do you have any hardware conflicts?

control panel>system>hardware>device manager

check for yellow exclamaition marks

Andy.
