I'm researching new domain names for my new site and keep getting an error that says quota for IP address blah.blah.blah exceeded? I've used this site loads of times but don't recall having seen this before. Is this some new thing they've introduced recently or have I just been blind to it before. Why do they have a quota for each IP address as to how many searches can be done? Any ideas?
Well it's a flippin pain in the ass lol! I give up- well for today anyways, I only searched for two domain names and it wouldn't let me back in even 20 minutes later and that's way out of order, how can you work like that???
Are you just looking to check whether a domain name is registered or not? If so, it might be worth trying dnsstuff who have a whois service. You can also use networksolutions, who will allow you to type in a number of names (e.g. rgbartlett, bartlett, richard) in a box, then select all possible domains and country specific domains. Pretty quick way of doing it! I'm sure they've got a similar security measure, but as they only display whether the domain is free or not (rather than the whois data for the registered domain) I suspect you can do quite a lot more searches, though I've not tested that theory.
