Default Email Account

Hi folks,

I have several email accounts and wondered if it is possible to share only 1 account to a 3rd party for monitoring purposes only?

Regards

Pete

When you say share do you mean deliver a copy of the email? If so there a couple of ways it can be done but the 3rd party receiving the email could reply without you knowing.

One way is to setup a MRA (Multi Recipient Address) for the email account so it fires a copy of the email to xx people.
Second way is using a store and forward so the email is store on the server as normal but also forwards a copy to another email address.

Does depend on the host though and if they support these features.

Phil,

I have made an offer for my keeper cards whereby I have declared a donation to charity bi annually

I am trying to think of a way of adding credability to this by allowing somebody access to the email account where the orders will be directed.....I naturally do not wish to compromise my security or allow access to any of the other emails

Stumped

Hmm then sending orders to a 3rd party would be a problem. Are the orders stored in a DB? You could then set-up a page for the charity to view the orders but not make changes etc...

I wouldnt want to send them orders....I simply wish them to be able to access that particular email account and see how many orders are in there

This is only my initial thoughts...i am sure there must be some way of giving perspective buyers and the charity a warm fluffy feeling over this?

Probably going to need to look at where you stand on allowing third party access to your clients private data too. Will think on for you...

OK well expanding on my previous idea, if the orders are in a database, setup a page which when called displays the order date, value and how much the charity has earnt.

That way you won't compromise any user security and the charity can see how much they have earnt.

Phil,

I assume you refer to a page within the pvcprinting site?

www.pvcprinting.co.uk/helpforheroes something like that?

How do you create a database from an email?

That's the problem you see, we don't know how you are storing your orders whether its online or offline.

If online its simple to do a report page. If offline you would have to manually update the page each time an order is placed.
