Hi
Our company currently has mdaemon email server set up.
It recieves all our mail through one webmail account and then distributes them.
We currently only need to receive emails when we are in the office so we currently have all our outlook settings to pick up the email though the internal ip (192.168.x.x) of the pc the which mdaemon is running on.
All works fine, and never had any problems with using and configuring new accounts etc. but now we want to be able to pick emails up from our server when we are out on the road.
Does anyone know if this is possible and not too tricky to do?
Hope this all makes sense and any help greatly appreciated
Thanks
Mark

I worked with version 6 a while ago. It's just a question of pointing to the mdaemon server in your browser (first open up the relevant ports in your firewall). They use the socalled World Client. Almost all of this info is in the settings and Help files.
Will have a look at your sugesstion and see if i can make anything of the help

Change your router/firewall settings for port forwarding to allow relevant traffic through to the server:
POP3 - port 110
IMAP - port 143
SMTP - port 25
HTTP - port 80
Secure SMTP (SSMTP) - port 465
Secure IMAP (IMAP4-SSL) - port 585
IMAP4 over SSL (IMAPS) - port 993
Secure POP3 (SSL-POP) - port 995
you will then need to set up your email client to look at the external IP address (which points to the server).
If your router allows, you might be able to set up something that all machines can use the external address, which points back to the router -I cant rememeber what it is called, though! Loopback, i think.
I've managed to get WorldClient to work so thanks for the advice.
Will have a look at the firewall setting when i can get access to it
Thanks Guys

With World Client he may only need to open Port 80.
And before you open up all these ports on your firewall, make sure you've got this system configured properly (i.e. not setup as an open mail relay, requires authentication to relay), and up to date with vendor patches for the product. I'd also only open the ports you REALLY need to, every open port is a potential security issue, the fewer open, the better.
I am going to open POP and SMTP ports needed on the firewall. port 80 is already open so i can use WorldClient.
Do these need to point to the email servers ip?
