Hi, I just thought Id drop by and introduce myself - Im Mel and Im Owner/Manager of The Transcription Company UK. I started the company back in 1999 and have a number of freelance transcribers I collaborate with who are based all over the UK. Together we provide an online audio typing / transcription service for small businesses (we're their secretary when dont have a secretary, or as cost effective alternative to them hiring a temp when staff are off sick or on holiday). We also undertake interview, focus group and conference transcription for universities, conference organisers and market research companies, and also students. As we're an internet-based service we're able to work for customers both worldwide and in the UK.

Im looking forward very much to taking part in discussions here and hopefully making useful contributions and perhaps making a few new business contacts along the way.

I use such services from time to time.....what are your rates for taking ( american voice) conference video to transcript? - is it time based???

Typically I am after trranscripts of a around 2hours DVD...or flash video.
