First off I apologise if this is in the wrong section but it sounds the most viable one.
Some off you may know that I do a bit of freelance web development on the side along with my full-time job.
Well I have been approached by a friend to do a site for her 3rd business so I want to do it all proper and professional.
So I gave her a client worksheet with questions for her and business partner to go through to give me a better understanding of what they want, who their audience is etc.
So now with that I am coming up with an outline of what is going to be in the website (eg pages and what each page will represent), different phases of the project and costs but looking at it seems to be a little on the skimpy side.
Does anyone have an example or links to where I can find a document between freelancer and client brief. I have tried google but just seem to find Freelancer and Agency.
My quotes are quite lengthy and detailed as they include the terms of sale and have a signature space at the bottom which is then atatched to the order they send. Each one is unique but goes through the full itemsisation of the whole process so the client is in absolute no doubt what happens and when. I could send you a copy if you want to shimmy it around for your own purposes.
Edit: I must add that, becasue we offer unlimited revisions until the site is exactly as the client wants it (i.e. no muttering, no inuendo we're fed up of so many changes, you name it, we just keep at it until it meets their satisfaction)therefore this saves us having to drill down the finer detail on the quote because things change as the project progresses anyway. Only siginificant changes are costed as extra. I want only happy clients

Sandra - thats a tempting offer Are all your clients are as happy as you? Sounds like it....
I cant imagine why anyone would pay out loads to advertise, break their neck to win a client and their order, then become disgruntled when the client has an unintentional change of mind with some stuff!
You know what its like. Your new business is your baby. It has to be right as in your minds eye. Clients dont want to be made to feel bad or a nuisance because their original spec has changed ever so slightly, without being zapped for a £200 extra charge or whatever on top! I love seeing things go from paper to live and Im as excited as the client to see it become reality.
Okay Im not talking about the extremes of perhaps some clients who take the biscuit but if you have watertight T & C, set the right scene at the outset, and be confident in how you handle them, then they wont take the Michael.
