Just caught the video of this on Twitter and thought you guys should see it if you havent already, very excited about this new tool as it is all in real time - no waiting around to see what your friends are typing it appears straight away, also a fantastic drag and drop facility for adding followers to a thread.

I don't think I will use this. I can't see it working for friends and family. Do you want people to know what you are typing in real time?

I can see a business case for this though. Looks like it will do away with meetings or cut them down a lot. Bosses can also monitor work a lot more closely. Lots of comments on the register about this http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/05...ness/comments/

I have to say that I like the look of it. It really is email and IM all rolled into one and I think there is a case for family and friends seeing what you are typing in real time. ICQ has been doing it for years.

It is an interesting way to look at conversations though. The attention has switched from a chronological listing to consolidation of the content. Also I think that with the API we could see some interesting applications being added to corporate websites.

Google are starting to develop a pattern of releasing technologies that kill off smaller companies before folding the project up because they got bored of it.

Its beginning to irritate me greatly. I see it happening to Remember The Milk since they started doing tasks in Google Calendar.
