Chris, your copywriter should be advising you on this not asking you what to do, that's why you're hiring them right?
I would ask them what they suggest.

I agree, your copywriter should really know this. It isn't just about writing text, it's about knowing how to use this text to bring in sales.
Generally it's best to have a large, attention grabbing headline on the 'front' with a sales blurb which entices them. Then have the main content on the 'back' but also include a good headline in-case they read the back first.
Text headlines work just as well, if not better than images so make sure you have one which is benefit-driven and attention grabbing on both sides.
What's also really important to add on you leaflet is "Whats in it for me" I.E. What will the customer get out of it?
Isn't it easier to have the same person design & Print your leaflets rather then going to all these different people?
Have you had a look at the vistaprint website?
You can design a leaflet yourself using their templates, upload your own images, or if you prefer, you can make your own design from scratch, pdf it, and upload it.
It's dirt cheap, they have loads of special offers and freebies and you can get a handful of leaflets done at a time, so if you wanted one variant for office buildings, one for homes with Jags parked outside and another for homes with mondeos parked outside....?
It's a great way to take the technical concerns away, your first 100 leaflets will probably cost less than a good pub lunch and by the sound of it your copy writer is just doing graphic design and leaving the copy up to you anyway (no offence intended).
Cheers,
Matthew
what does spending loads of many on advertiste do for you ?? i'll tell you maybe you don't have to spend loads of many you good just spend the perfect amount but for every great business to rise you must tell people to make a number of customers or popularity which is why you need advertisment whether its pop ups or flyers or banners .... try making it simple yet very attractive and straight to the point gd luck
I would follow a simple front design, with your company name/service in bold, followed by a decent tagline, and perhaps a customer testomonial, then at the bottom you phone number.
The text on the front should be simple.
On the back a bit about your company and services, perhaps in bullet points, a few more testimonnials and a base price .
Also have you tried BNI, i would say its a better bang for yor buck, and also theinternet advice provided by PFM
I have many times had a leaflet through the door. Most go in the bin. About 1% I will keep and pin to my notice board and maybe only 1 or 2 will ever get a call from me (i.e the ACTION mentioned above).
e.g. I have had a window cleaner card pinned to my board for the last year with every intention of calling it (and I'm sure I will do one day) but it still hasnt been called yet. Yes I have very dirty windows!!!
The moral of the story - GIVE A REASON FOR PEOPLE TO TAKE ACTION NOW (or by a certain date)
i.e. "New business in the area - get 10% discount by quoting ref XYZ. Offer valid unitl DD/MM/YY"
Hope this helps![]()
The answer depends on how the leaflets are to be used.
If they are to be put through letterboxes then they should have less text with a bold headline and attention grabbing design. If this is case you should try and follow up with either a call or further leaflets with more information.
If they are to be given to clients to reinforce your sales efforts then there should be more copy. The right copy will reinforce what you have been discussing with the potential client, particular if you include good photography and/or testimonials.

Don't indiscriminately post or hand out the leaflets though
Target your existing client base - 2 hours free cleaning for every 2 clients who they introduce etc
I got my cleaner through a recommendation and have mentioned her (she is a broker with at least 20 cleaners she looks after) to at least a dozen happy homeowners in my area.
Win-win for all concerned. I get priority service, she gets clients.
If I had received a leaflet it woudl have been binned
Our entire street is that way inclined too. We all talk (seems strange - but its true)
I agree with a bit of everything said in this thread. If I put my customer hat on and I was looking for a cleaning service, I think the same as WinningNames - I'd want to know exactly what type of cleaning service it was and what type of jobs it handled. Then I'd like to see a bold telephone number or contact detail that I could use to get a quote. I think flyers that have one striking side with an image, a logo and a telephone number for example, then bullet points to say what the company is about plus one or two testimonials if applicable on the other side would be fine.
