Hi all, I have been running a football blog site for Arsenal FC for the past 3 years as a hobby and, with alot of hard work, we now have about 100,000 visitors per month and around 20 regular contributors around the world. We've been featured on Sky Sports News and had mentions in some of the national papers as we have been lucky enough to have got some "scoops" along the way.
We have recently been signed by a media agency and have started attracting the likes of Lucozade and Nike to the site as advertisers. We have also now got on board a sportswriter/media PR who is managing the contributors.
I now believe this to be a viable business model and have decided to expand the concept across the other 19 Premier League clubs and eventually across the 24 Championship clubs.
Up til now, everything has been self-funded, apart from hosting which we have secured free for all the sites for the next 13 months. We now need a little bit of investment (about £20k) to move things forward - to pay for licences, marketing etc.
We've consulted with our strategic partners over our financial forecasts to ensure that they are realistic and have a comprehensive business plan.
Has anyone got any suggestions where we can go? We want to get the Premier League sites all up and running in time for the start of the new season in August so time is rather of the essence.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Rob
