    That's interesting...

I wouldn't accept it with or without payment. If it's wrong it's wrong. Just wouldn't want something that doesn't fit. But that's me.

I probably represent only a portion of the population.

Fact is you can sell anything, just depends how far you're prepared to go. I would recommend whatever you sell you are honest about. If Baz doesn't mind buying, then you have a market. Probably.

I resent having to pay for poor articles and writing too - but I do cos I normally pay far too low so I kind of blame it on myself.

Alot of my sites are not really written for humans - just uniqueness and so the occasional mistake does not matter at first - if I get the traffic then its time to revise my content.

If I was selling my own stuff and not just an affiliate I would probably be a little more particular about my web content.

What is the copywriting for? Start writing for yourself, start a blog and write about anything and everything. If your English is not perfect then this will help you to become a better writer. THE only way to become a better writer is to WRITE more!

    Good luck!

    Sorry Baz

    Totally disagree with this point.

If you pay for a service, whatever the agreed price, you want the service.

I would never dream of fiddling with my car just because the mechanic 'forgot' to do something in the engine because it is not his area of expertise.

In my opinion, if you are selling yourself as a copywriter in English, then you MUST have a grasp of competent, English and all it entails...PERIOD.

I agree if you claim to be a copywriter then regardless, you should have perfect English in every sense. But we see people claiming to beall sorts of things but then go look at their work, it's poor and they have no excuse!

An article writer might just sit there banging out lots of articles using an article compiler tool thingy, and just piece it together. If they then flog it for a fiver and someone is willing to buy 10 of those and anglicise them in parts, then that might still be cheap for them.

I got a load of web copy to anglicise from a Dutch man, and it wasnt hard work at all. OK there was 20 pages of it, so it took time, but it wasn't hard work as his grasp of English was adequate enough. It was just stuff like words back to front such as "Today a business event I was attending" instead of "Today I attended a business event". He is very good at writing in his own language and spelling is perfect.

This is where "business" meets "the profession"

To make money, you don't have to be professional...but what you do need is to find somebody that wants something that you can deliver.

"Professional" and "Being in Business" are two different things. One is about being correct, the other is about making money. Personally I like being in business and giving the area that I work in a little more professionalism.

Sometimes there is too much professionalism.
Sometimes there is too little professionalism.

At the end of the day, you are not in a profession, you're in business. Or trying to be.

The big question: Are you going to be professional or not? If so, learn English first. If not, find a niche.

So any one who claims to be a professional, or a pro in their skill, should have perfect English?

    That's not what I said.

Good business people are usually not "professionals" although they may be professional

    TYPE 1 academics > carear > profession > professional
    TYPE 2 non-academics > business > own a company

In many cases business people have no "professional" quals - career people do.

do you mean qualified in their skill set then? as in a qualified copywriter? That's what I was errring at...that we can all call our selves professionals - but doesn't mean we are qualified to do a particular job like a qualified person could.
