Hi Mr B
I did a pat testing course and bought a pat tester for my business, i wasn't being tight, but i thought i could offer my services to the rest of the estate, so yeah its a nice Clean Job.
In the early days i tried leaflets in all the offices, factories and Industrial Estates i could find, I had about 5000 a5 leaflets done for about £100, and must of got around 50 jobs as a result.
So i guess that would be your next step.
Secondly, get your self a webpage done and register a domain name so that customers can contact you via your site, if you can make one yourself, there are some decent members here which can most certainly help.
Do you have a van?? A car?? Get it sign written, It don't need to be expensive, just say what you do, add a phone number and email and thats it, Ebay is a great cheap way to get some vinyl lettering done and its not that expensive.
Another idea is once you've been doing it for a year and everyones due for a retest, get some postcards done and post them to the customers about a month before the test is due, to give them enogh time to arrange an appointment. The Great thing with Pat Testing is you work all year for your new customers, the second year you'll have more new customers and at least 80% of those customers from the first year.
Thats all i can come up with at the mo, I'm sure everyone else will offer their ideas too
As for telemarketing :cursing: The amount of times i've been busy at work and had to stop because of a phone call and have some guy trying to flog me something  I can't wait to hang up. Don't try this way as you'll be wasting your time. (i could be wrong?) Try leaflets or flyers, get the customers that need it done to call you!
All the best :thumbup1:
