Submitting press releases
Is it best practice to add a press release as an attachment to an email or to copy it into the body of the email?

Oops I wonder if that is why the ones I have sent out before have not done so well, I always put them as attachments.
Oh well we live and learn, I shan't make that mistake again. Thanks Vicky

I usally put them under the main body of my email, with a short intro blurb in the main bit of the email giving them a quick overview.

Also - use the press release title as the email subject - don't say "Press Release" as the subject

Im glad I have come across this post as we are currently working on our press release and I would have titled it 'press release' and attached it, both no no's!!
Thanks guys, great helpful advice as usual

Finally got my act together and a list of editors ready. One last question please:
Is it ok to send an email to yourself and BCC the editors or is that too impersonal? Should I send individual emails?

I'd sent one at a time, and address the editor by name on each email if you know it
