Wordpress can be really good for search engines too if you optimise the page titles and get it to rewrite the page url's.
If you are hosting Wordpress yourself on your own domain, then you can get various plug ins for SEO - a good one is called 'all in one seo pack'. For more help on optimising wordpress for SEO there's actually some really good video guides to follow on YouTube!

Wordpress is awesome for search engine position. (At risk of self-promoting) It's what I do for businesses and the search engine results are almost immediate and pretty impressive.

One tiny, tiny word of caution for Wordpress.... sometimes it can be a bit of a fiddle when upgrading.

You're right, Simon. If you're non-technical (but can write text and upload an image) Wordpress IS fairly easy to use. If you want to do anything else with it, it suddenly - like all software - becomes challenging and it's not for the faint-hearted. :-)

I use blogger
I've been using blogger for the last year or so and have been happy with it. I'm sure there are better versions and I hear Twitter & Wordpress are great but I just can't be bothered to move! i think my next website will have the blog integrated anyway
