i run a photography company and we recently started offering a deal, which compared too our competitors is really cheap and our photographs are great.
basically £100 plus vat for a hour shoot (which either can be done in a studio or we bring our lighting and backdrops to your house if it make you more comfortable) and after the shoot we airbrush the images (if needed) and give you 3 A4 sized prints.
i have leafleted about 500 homes, have a pay per click campaign for it and show the off all over my website.
but i only really get one or 2 shoots with it?
any ideas to what i could do to find more interest in it?
I dont think that is really cheap. I have hired city based professionals who charge in that region for corporate stuff. (and with no vat).

IMHO I think that all these 'dodgy' photograph offers that are around - where they offer a free photo or make over session then give you the time-share sell type treatment to try get you to buy loads more photos at really high prices with even higher priced frames and different finishes etc - makes people wary of photographers.
So maybe you could turn that around somehow. Sort of point out there are no hidden extras etc

Its not really that cheap I know in Liverpool you can hire studio time for £75/hour and they offer pretty much the same as you and they have been going for a long time. Get your site on Kin2Kin its for Liverpool creatives, see what other photographers are charging, make it look slick, can you buddy up with maybe a make up artist too.
Personally when I see leaflets with photography promos on them I never really look as I assume its going to cost me an extra 300 quid to get more than just a passport sized photo. As mentioned I think you could have a go at trying to change that idea
It's pretty good, they have just had a networking evening as well I couldn't go no-one to watch the children but next time I think I will go you never know who you might meet hey!

i suppose i have to explain that there are no hidden extras, we can come to your home with backdrop and lighting, have a hour or so shoot then you pick 3 images you want for the A4 sized prints and thats it.
if you look around 12x4 prints can be expensive and we've included everything in the £100.
what would you usually be willing to pay for that do you think?
