I've done it before... I spent 20 years as a personal trainer/PTI and I did it on a stepper machine. It's great fun, but hard work!

Ok it is an olympic year so how about organising a pub olympics?
You can arrange 26 'sports' around pub games like domaino's brag, pontoon darts, nearest to bull for javelin. bean bag throwing for hammer etc. I am sure with a little imagination you could have a really good day, raise money, get drunk! Organise it at a rugby club and you can finish it off with a game of neked rugby... ?? Oh ... hang on.... did I already suggest that LOL
