Default Advertising on website.

Right... here's the dilema.

Our website has been going in it's current format since the start of the year, and it really is starting to attract a decent amount of traffic compared to other finance broker sites.

Part of the reason for this is that we focus on car sales through the website, which lifts our traffic, then businesses "trip over" the fact that we are also an asset finance company (people will look for cars on line, but not often financial services like ours)

We already have one van insurance company on the website paying us on a commission basis for any deals done as a result of a click through, but I'm interested in expanding this revenue stream a little.

For example, I'm thinking about asking a few equipment suppliers for a small monthly fee to cover the cost of a link (obviously the links page would change and improve to reflect this). Another idea is to invite other business service type companies if they would like to "advertise" on the website.

I must stress that I am certainly not looking at this as a main revenue earner, but thought it may be an idea to increase traffic even further and generate a little income to pay for web development.

If anyone has tried anything like this, or has any ideas as to how to make it work (such as a scale of charges) then I really would appreciate it if you could drop me a line.

Thanks very much

Justin

hmmm.... IMHO I would try to go down some sort of partnership route if possible with the company that sells the cars. If they sold the car and you provided the finance both companies win.

I understand that this could be difficult because most car sales companies have their own finance company so you would need to choose a partner that doesnt.

Do you have analytics set up on your website that let you know which regions most of your web traffic comes in from? You could tailor your website through search engine optimisation to cater for that region...
