Right now I'm in the process of launching a media company Northants and I'm looking at RA as an option. I have done it for clients before but never for a media company.
I think it's going to be a hit and miss thing but it worked like a charm for a client who sold auto parts.
Just wondering what approach your going to take? because as I'm sure you know wording is everything.
It might be best to mention about creation of websites first then mention SEO because I know Joe Public has absolutely no idea what SEO is, but everyone knows what a website is.
One was small and generic at about £5k for 3 weeks in Doncaster (Trax FM) and the other and more specific for an event was about £15k or so in Sheffield over 3 weeks on Hallam FM which is fairly popular here in the North.
I wouldn't do either again as it 'does depend' - on many factors. What will work for one may not work for another.
The 2nd campaign was part of a bigger city wide advertising campaign on which I spent about £30k + vat in the space of a month not including the cost of the event day itself.

in a word, no. well not very well for the money spent. thats why i said I wouoldnt run it again.
The only ads I would sugest are run on radio are those you hear year in and year out - double glazing, loans, divorce lawyers, no win no fee lawyers, etc. if they keep doing it then clearly it works, as a guide. Same goes for most advertising really though.

I'm no expert having never run any radio advertising at all. However, I have yet to hear a single business actually say that it was "worth while advertising medium". I'm sure that it must work for some businesses...?
Never tried it, but going back around 12 years ago the previous owner of the business did, he did say that it had an impact at that time.
About a year ago, there was one particular ad which drove me potty by a window company and I'd change channels. I still recall the telephone number as it was built into the jingle, very powerful and well written.
