Default A foot in the door.....

As most of the readers of this board know, I am fascinated by marketing, and so I have studied a lot of american gurus...

Two guys well worth hearing are Brad and Alan Anton... particularly when they talk about novel ways to get through doors..

One that they tried with great success (never had the gall myself!!)

Was called a foot in the door.. and it follows this process.

Take a guess at the targets shoe size (if not ring up the gatekeepers and sask)

- Buy a pair of top quality shoes.

- Wrap one in gold foil and send it preferably by hand courier, if not by fedex....with a short note that says.

- "a foot in the door, I will bring the other one when I come!!"

And it worked for them for big company CEOs!

Food for thought?

Thanks for sharing that Admagic, I think we all need our eyes opening to being more creative when it comes to marketing.

Although a similar approach at Taylor Wimpy to reduce staff numbers by posting a gun and bringing the bullets with them at the next staff meeting I hear has faired less well!

My father in law was head of marketing at a large company and a
marketing campaign they were running consisted of sending out a suitcase
locked with a combination lock.

Unfortunately in coincided with the ricin terrorist alerts.
Didn't go own too well :sad1:
