    Default social marker

Have you tried using this tool that lets you socially bookmark a website simultaneously in several social bookmarking sites? Or do you still prefer manually bookmarking your posts/links of your blogs?

I use social marker...great tool, even better if you integrate into flock or firefox....wouldnt do without it. A couple of things about it are irritating which is it would be better if it knew which sites needed comma delimited tags, and which use space delimited, otherwise great!

I use onlywire ...to post simultaneously to other more minor sites.

Also...if you are in this arena, dont forget rss aggregators too - the RSS on the right sites, eg feedagg feedage can get ranked higher and simulataneously than your own site

Thanks for your response. Do you think search engines like Google is in favor with this automated tool? As far as I know search engines prefer manual submissions?

I guess most automation is spamming - generally speaking. But if it works and the engines can't spot it's hard to argue against using it other than from an ethical point of view.
Wow, a SPAM free signature, how original! If you want to find me just Google seo specialist

First off, social marker is not fully automated.....the submissions are manual, it just populates the fields in a submission form for you, allowing you to edit or modify before sending off to the engines.

It works like "roboform" just on a rather bigger scale.

It is no different to you having an admin assistant fill out all you companies house forms ready to sign and submit. It isnt cheating, it is common sense labour saving.

    Next.....

The idea that automated submission is spamming, unethical or in anyway underhand is also IMHO bunk -

In the conventional world, ad and pr agencies , even the mighty reuters, exist to distribute releases to all who want them. In fact journalists look on some of these resources , including responsesource and prweb first to get news. So the world would struggle without the automatic feed , sorting and retrieval of information and news from agencies.

And the article sites are to the blogosphere and others wanting information feed,s what agencies such as reuters are to conventional journalism.

And proof that google doesnt think that automatic feed is bunk is the respect it gives to engines like technorati which are wholly automatically fed, and other rss aggregation sites...and social bookmarking sites, which are one of the fastest ways to the top of google for a limited life time news iten.

What makes it spam, is the quality of the information, not the means used to disseminate it.

Google is in itself the biggest automatic aggregator of news in the world. It is not an army of journalists that big G uses to pull in the news, it is a set of automatic scanners ... so question ? - is google, AOL, the bbc , newswire etc etc spamming for simply reproducing the same newsbreaking item in multiple places?

So automatic submission of feeds to multiple article sites, feed aggregators and bookmarking sites is IMHO only spamming if the information you send is spam!

Having said that, automatic bookmarking IS against the terms of service of some bookmarking sites - stumble in particular takes a very dim view of "auto stumbling"

well, these days I don't use social marker tools since social bookmark site may target those sites that are spamming their network with self promotion...
