Default Where would I start

After my recent employment and boss issues I have decided that I want to do somthing to help other people.

We hear of lots of anti-bullying charitys etc for children but what about bullying in the workplace?!

I have been bullied in two different jobs (says something about me doesnt it) but I have never known who to turn to or what my rights are within the workplace.

I just feel there could be some more support out there for people like me.

So what would my next or even first step be?

Bullying at work is definitely an important field that needs some more attention by the public.

I've never been bullied at work but I remember some who were. It's not always easy to stand up for yourself and I have sympathy for you, looks like some good info has been posted though. All the best, Dan.
Have one of these smilies on me!

No, not at all. Bullies prey on weakness; Be it because you're a new employee, or because your confidence is low from having been bullied previously.

A close friend of mine was badly bullied by other women in her last job. I served with the Infantry, which has a reputation for it, but never saw anything as underhand and cruel as what happened to her.

Thanks to those who posted links also.

Hi,

I agree, this issue needs to be looked into and some sort of action taken to prevent this happening.

Some good links posted,

Best Wishes,

Absolutely, please don't think that it reflects on you at all, I'm sure it can happen to anyone. Good for you for using your experiences positively!

This is a highly relevant issue. Due to the general low quality of managers generally, they try to manage by being officious, noisy, belittling their staff and not understanding how to get the best out of people.

I think a big part of this is education. We put people into management positions and dont train them at all. Oddly enough, they fail! A lot of the time!

I work in a number of companies, and in varying degrees, this is a real problem.
