IF he had done some sort of account detailing the plight of street dogs, and used this to raise awareness of the problem, and gone about it a more humane way (e.g. taking pictures of street dogs, not chaining it up and killing it) then he would be a REAL artist.
I feel annoyed when people do sick things and get away with it by calling it ART
If you search for "St Albans Artist Starve Dog" you'll come up with an article written by Sarah Harvey, it's quite possibly one of the best news articles I've read in a long time. Judging by the strength of everybodies comments I'd really suggest a read. I'd post the link but I'm only new so I can't yet!
Umm, I too have heard that this was a hoax, yet it seems to have been substantiated by certain quarters. The photographs were extremely convincing, if this was staged!
Iam still not entirely convinced that it was a hoax, but I do intend to do further digging.
The idea of it is disgusting, particularly considering people did nothing.
Funny a hoax was mentioned... I did the google look-up, Wiki says the "artist" was born in 1975... and the other site near the top says the artist says he is 50 years old. Wiki also mentions a different outcome for the dog too - fed but escaped.
Never know what to think, but so many 'petitions' are popping up on the web now I am started to wonder the purpose and what they are expecting to achieve.
There are genuine cases in which petitions are extremely affected, so please do not be put off.
As far as I am aware, this artist is now trying some damage limitation. For what I have read and heard, this story is actually true, but perhaps we will never know!
Hopefully, the outrage will prevent him or anyone else, from acting out such a barbaric act.
The article saying that this is a hoax is true in that it does highlight a certain hypocricy amongst us all,
It is terrible, and i did sign the petition, but afterwards i thought about it, if it is a hoax, and i think it was a stunt surely he has actually done a fair bit of good highlighting the situation of stray dogs and how we think of them
