I've just had my google ads disapproved as I had the word FREE in capitals.
However, when I had a quick look at other google ads quite a few of them do have FREE in capitals - does anybody know if there is any reason for that or have google just not caught up with those ads yet? - or are they picking on me because I'm new
The reason for disapproval was over 'capitalisation' but I only had the one word in capitals, which I have now changed to lowercase - seems over the top to me.
I'm running 5 variations of the ad but did have the word FREE in all 5!

It is definitely against the rules, and Im surprised others have got away with it...if they have now, they may get disallowed later.
However you CAN do it by a back door...although it is a couple of months since i used capitals in a display url, so try it...
FREE-TRAINING.yourdomain.com
Google doesnt check whether you have a subdomain, so you can use it for copy.
BTW .... the right way is capitalise first letter of all but prepositions

FREE is against the rules, but sometimes you can get it in.
I've no idea why this is possible - it should be easy for them to programme the system to reject all these ads when they're created.
I haven't tried my luck with this for a while, so I can't remember if:
(a) they allow you to set the ad up, but review and then disable it
or
(b) if it's one of the things that's either picked up at ad creation time or not at all
happend to me before - I used to be able to run them legitimately and then Google changed the rules (as always) and then they were disapproved....v annoying.
Out of interest did you get many clicks while they were up?
I had a few clicks. I've changed it to Free and seems to be working ok. Certainly getting more clicks with the ads I'm trialling now. Just need them to convert to sales
I'm definitely getting more 'opens' and 'click throughs' using Free in my email campaign subject header.
