Hi Chubster, the campaign looks good for a starting point. Your CTR is good, both ads are performing well and the ads themselves pretty much follow recommended best practice.
I'd leave both ads running for a while if i were you. They're both attracting clicks so there's really no reason to get rid of one or the other.
My recommendations going forward would be to activate conversion tracking so you can see how many sales/leads you are generating for the money you spend, and increase the size of your keyword list but keep them all in exact match.
Chub - I explained my thoughts months ago...I think there are far more targetted terms you can use likely to lead to better conversion and sales and signups - the game is not about clickthru, it is all about sales..
Chub....
do you have explicit permission to use or own the domain "pet-products.co.uk"??
If so apologies for what I am about to say...
Somebody out there is advising people to use a keyword rich display url TLD unrelated to the target url TLD...and this is not only against googles terms of service,
(whether you own pet-products or not)
it is also arguably a trademark violation too and ergo illegal if you do not own the domain.
I have just had to fight a pitched battle with someone on my turf for that very thing, and thankfully google have now not only barred them from that term, they have banned them from adwords, good riddance!!!
I am the first to use sneaky tricks to increase click thru , force competitors to pay more....and so on... provided ONLY that they are within the rules all is fair in love, war and adwords, but using invented TLD display urls is not.
And as I pointed out to google the day they do permit it, I will start using google.com as my display url.
There are far better ways to increase clickthru anyway....
If you want to know a couple of sneaky LEGAL tricks to up your click thru...pm me.
I've noticed a significant increase in this in the last 3-6 months, especially in my industry. For example search for avaya and usually 3 of the adwords people are using TLDs that infringe Avaya's and Google's ToS.
