Default Told off by Google

Well here I am sitting on the naughty step....:sad1:

Got a email from google yesterday..see below for a summary. Thought you could do this??

I have changed them now to the site address but whats the point in having a display url if it has to match the site address ?? Why dont they just have the one.

Oh...and how long do I need to sit here for...me bum is going numb and there is a draft from the letterbox

The guidelines were updated about a month a go.
You are supposed to display your domain in your ad.

whatever URL you display on your add it must go to that domain

I believe you can do: display: domain.com/fab-website and it actually go to domain.com/actual.html

I think it's just the domain that needs to be the same

but check up on that

That was my understanding too - in fact my ads operate in this way and I've had no problems?

The domain needs to be the same, I had problems with this yesterday when I updated a couple of ads.

I still have ones that arn't using the right domain (even though we do own the domain, it just redirects). It's just when I tried to update them it picks up on it now.

So if you like your ads the way they are, don't change them and Google might not pick up on it for a while!

It doesn't have to be the same URL
i.e. landing page
But it does have to be the same domain.

i.e.
if the landing page is
example.com/products/pet-toys/diamond-encrusted-dog-collar.html
the display page can be
example.com/dog-collars/ but can't be example2.com/dog-collars/

(It's also best to create the page example.com/dog-collars even if you're
not using it)
