In response to a recent thread, I commented that the site
could not be used for adwords because it would be slapped
on quality....
As you know quality to some extent determines price, or worse
can get you slapped!
Here is a basic guide to a complicated subject, on how to get decent quality scores, if all you have is a sales or squeeze page
if you want a site to
(a) sell a single product
(b) keep to good Direct marketing practise and avoid having menus top
or side which simply distract the reader
Then whilst google doesnt give guidance on this, this is what seems to work
Put a bottom menu, comprising SMALL font hyperlinks , include the following pages
Home page- is the sales message
Menu
(a) About - brief description of you or company
(b) Contact
(c) Privacy
(d) Articles
(d) Has titles of "articles" , and contains the first sentence and then "more" links to the article pages using the keywords/title
of the article in the link
(the article page is titled just that to sounds so boring ,nobody clicks thru
(e) Article 1, Article 2 , Article 3
the article 1 etc pages arent titled that, they are titled using the critical keyword expressions)
articles comprise little more, than the problem statement, agitation and then link to the home page as the soluition.
Each article links back to the home page...using the keywords for reputation..
The article pages are there to tell google this site has information (google now seem to dislike bare sales pages!)
Title the articles with keyword expressions you want to use to get to send to the site
Title the home page with your prime money keywords
Use the keywords at least twice in the text, once in H tags, once bolded.
Use the Specific Article page 1,2or 3 as a landing page if the keyword expression you use, differs massively from the home page.. as it would with back door keywords.
This way I can normally get good /great quality scores for keywords...which reduces price and avoids slap.
