Default AdWords for Affiliate Site

Hi guys,

I've just started my first CPC camapign using AdWords for an affiliate site I'm running. Its of to a pretty successful start with the £5.00 maximum spend set yesterday generating me £11.23 in commission.

Just after any advice on optimising my campaign to help make things even more efficient. I've been setting up specific product title searches with URL's to the direct pages of my site, is there anything else I can do to maximise my spend with AdWords, in terms of finding lower priced keywords that will generate sales through the site?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice, its very appreciated as I'm new to AdWords and Affiliate sites!

Greg

Greg, remove that information as you are giving away a profitable niche. First rule of affiliate marketing, never give away your profitable niches or words

What keyword research have you carried out so far? What tools have you used?

Thanks OWG... not such a good start then, breaking rule #1!
I've just been using the tools given in the AdWords setup for keyword research, and then narrowed it down based on min. CPC. I then adjusted my max. CPC cost for the highest projected no. of visits. Thanks, Greg

Thanks OWG, it seems to be a pretty competitive area in general! Would you recommend any other PPC setups? Like Yahoo? or I was looking at Facebook for targeted ads, although they seem pretty pricey in comparison...

It depends on your market. If you are looking at the younger market for things like ringtones phones, games freebies etc, then Microsoft will give you great return on Investment (ROI), as their demographic is younger (due to msn messenger

Thanks OWG, I'm going to run a very similar campaign on the Microsoft ad network and see how they compare

Hi Greg,

Here's a couple of videos that might help.

Beating Adwords

Keyword Targeted Ads

Also, try to get a copy of Perry Marshalls definitive Guide to Adwords. I call it the Bible!

Cheers
