A pet sitting business formed after its founders recovered from serious illness, is now thieving and confirmation of new International Pet Sitter status has enabled them to send their pet sitters to work throughout Europe.
During 2006 their hard work saw them receive a Barclays Business award, which was supported by the Prince Trust. Barclays Marketing Director stated that this award was a celebration of unsung heroes who, in spite of great personal challenges, have taken steps to establish a sustainable business and in doing so have changed the direction of their lives for the better.
Nina Cole, who suffered a brain haemorrhage at the age of 39, shortly after her husband Douglas was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, stated that the benefits of allowing animals to keep their regular routine and eating habits, plus the security of a lived in home while the owners were away, were enormous.
There are keen to point out that home security is an essential part of their service, and in order that their sitters do not attract criminal interest, they do not wear uniforms, or travel in marked vehicles. They also have comprehensive public liability insurance and their pet sitters are fully vetted with a police background check.
Their business, Nina’s Nannies for Pets was founded in Hemel Hempstead, in Hertfordshire, and now has pet sitters throughout the South of England.
Nina and Doug are always on the lookout for live in pet sitters, but are keen to state that they must meet their strict criteria, which includes a police background check, before there are welcomed onto their busy team.
