After talking to the UK Design Office, I cant protect what I wanted to so see no problem discussing it - I've been promoting the idea for the past 6 months anyway.
So, I had this idea about a year ago, for a calendar that was linked to the seasons, not directly to the months (i.e. it would not be 1 month to a page). I then spent 8 months trying to get a design that worked. I came up with a single sheet A2 planner and used it as a market evaluation (which you can see here: http://www.two42.com/nav/shop/Calendars/index.html)
Its based around the seasons and the 8 traditional celebrations; 1 column of dates per celebration, but still with dates, weeks, months so you know where you are in the "real" world. All FSC printed (thanks to Ray's other life).
The feedback from those who have seen it has been very good, even managed to get quite a few sold even if it was late to market.
Anyway, the reaction convinced me it was worth pursuing.
I have for the past 3 months been working on a std calendar format ( A3 wiro bound) based on the planner (i.e. 1 column to a page).
Its aimed at the 30-50,000 pagans in this country, but other I think may be taken my it too (thinking people of a Green/environmental persuasion). With the planner, 25p from each one sold went to FOE, with the calendar I think I can manage £1.
So far only 3 people have seen the design, I trust them, but I'd like a limited but wider set of people to take a look. I guess I'm looking for 2 things:
I know I would buy one and I know a few friends I would love to give on to as a gift. I think the background image and design is spot on for what youi are trying to do.
Gets a big thumbs up from me!
Wish I'd known about it sooner
Can I ask what weight of paper they are printed onto?

I know a few people that would love it and would make a great gift instead of the usual kittens calendar. I wouldn't buy one for myself because of my religious beliefs but that wouldn't stop me buying them for others. Great concept.
I also like the design, it doesn't look too 'way out there' to be in any home.

Thanks Colin & Sally - its good to have comments from people who are in no way connected to this - glad you like it. I know its a simple thing really but feels like I've lived and breathed nothing else for the past 6 months :-) And now I know the form works for real - Colin wins 1st prize of a virtual lollipop!
Cheers
Steve

That is a great idea. You should get it out there! Since the first idea was so well received you should definately start marketing it. Are you doing this on your own or with support from a company/business partner?
