Check out rca.ac.uk/pages/getinvolved/rapid_prototyping_facilities_509 (put the appropriate three w's in front and dot html at the end). It's a service the Royal College of Art offer which may be of use. Even if it isn't I can guarantee that there will be someone who works there who can answer your questions if you ask them nicely enough
The RCA has a major industrial design school where students conceive, develop and then try to commercialise their ideas. Definitely worth a look.

BTW It says the service is only available for the greater london area but if you're outside that it's still worth a call I think
