on websites we refer to the term spam in a different way to when referred to in emails. Its basically become an umbrella word for stuff appearing on anything electronic and internet related that could be deemed unattractive in its intention or presentation in emails or on websites, forums, blogs and so forth. So when we talk spam on websites, its seen in the same light as it would be if it was in an email.

I'm not saying it is spammy by the way, just explaining it how we refer to it and what Pete means by that.

You have a heading which reads "Sky Rocket Sales" (s/be Sky-rocket sales) which made me immediately think spammy and to be honest on further perusal the site is not that spammy.But that was my first impression and first impressions matter.

BTW the "tips" link is almost invisible which is the most interesting page on the site - although the pink envelopes are definitely a no-no!

Who opens the post? Mostly women

I will resolve the tips section, I have a blog to attach to the site which has more tips.


Re the heading, I have altered the front page completely moving the sales spiel to another page and toned down the headline

I am not sure that this is the route to go as you are running the risk bu aiming at a minority whom own/run small businesses who could feel patronised by this approach nor can I see any sound psychological method for reaching this decision. Anyway....that is not pertinent to the site review so I will leave it there.

As for no access to your meta's, that would worry me for future online growth and development. I know you state your marketplace is offline but why would you deliberately shun the most cost effective advertising there is??

Hi

I am not neglecting the Internet.

I am a well established Internet Writer and have other sites I can promote online services on.

But this is not the purpose of this site. This site is specifically for local businesses.

I am moving away from online work as I want to be out and about more meeting and greeting people not just stuck at home behind my pc.

Maybe this is something I should mention on my about me page?

Yes that's definitely an improvement

The only thing is that the logo now looks out of place as the web design isnt reflecting the brand colours in your logo.
