    Default My site, your thoughts

    Hi
I would like some feedback on my website, what would put you off buying from us? My product is selling but mainly through Ebay which take there cut and I want to sell directly through my site. I got about 900 visits last month but I cant convert alot of them into good sales.vMy product is only £2.89 each and even cheaper for larger orders which I have had. My site should be on my profile if you want to have a look. Any feedback appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi

I think we can spot why you are converting 100% away from your site.

I cannot buy it direct on your site

Here is what I would do.

1 Get professional. You own the domain name so instead of your personal email have one set for orders@YOUR_TLD.co.uk or similar
2 Get Trust. Are you paypal verified? Show it, add a contact number and a return address
3 Add a simple buy now button from paypal. (grab it in your merchant tools)
4 Remove the paypal logo, it is pants, grab a referral banner id from your account and add it to your page base. This is win win. a) they see you accept paypal and b) if they have no paypal account, they can sign up and you get some comms.
5 Enhance your landing page copy. ask yourself
    a) Who would buy it
    b) What is important about this product
    c) Why would they buy it
6 Get your headline sorted. Your special offer is at the end of the page in red. I would go black (and loose the bold on the whole page, only bold up key points) and use something like

Corporate Golfers Love My Pencil Pal. Buy before 31.05 and get a 10% Discount...

Using something like this you have id your market, added urgency, etc

    HTH

    Simple answer. No.

From what I can work out to buy 'on the site' I send your paypal email account money (I have to total it up correct etc) and hope and pray your send me the right amount of pens. I guess I also have to send another email to say I just ordered with my address etc? I don't get any receipt, order number etc etc

Basically I have to jump through hoops to buy the product! Unless I click the less than obvious Ebay link anyway.. which is not what you want.

You need a simple shopping cart that forwards to paypal - also something as basic as having a big "BUY NOW" that works would help.. the big red underlined (read: click me!) "BUY NOW Only £2.89 + P&P" on the homepage that I couldn't click annoyed the hell out of me and you lost me there and then tbh!

Since all you want to do is get people to buy ONE product move everything to the home page to do that. You don't need an 'order' page.

Layout the home page like this>

Title / quick tagline / 2 line description / Nice Picture
    big buy now button
brief product overview/intro text [+read more link]

I agree, make it as easy as possible to buy, here is some instructions on the paypal website on how you could do it.

Just a buy now button, simple. I like the product, a good idea.

agree with others Also think you could spice up the sales pitch a bit.

and maybe a clearer pic of what the product does.

I would recommend MR Site, you can build a custom website and build in the shop and paypal etc.

My fiance has just set-up her site "Petite Pooch " using MR site and I have to say it looks pretty good, the shopping cart and built-in paypaal also look professional.

    Hope this helps.
