    Check this

It does not validate W3C, which on the great scheme of things may not be a disadvantage when looking at SEO, but with 'Stag weekends' being a highly competitive keyword on Google, it is best to have as few elements that could lead to a lower ranking.

What I can't understand is when COASTEERING was developed, did they only have stag parties in mind?

The border is missing from around 'Testimonials'

I would set up the website to have a page for each activity rather than just about us. Which brings me back to what I was saying earlier, be the leader in your area/Wales for activities, and if you happen to get additional business from stag weekends then that is a bonus, as you might get extra from the Grey pound as well.

Or the other solution, just go for stag weekends, but dump the domain name and get one with stag weekend in it....

In short your website design maybe ok, but your message is mixed.

    Hope this helps

Why not promote yourself for the niche you are in, and then long tail stag weekends? They can be your bonus. Not your mainstay.

I have a theory regarding the Stag title...

Presumably, the site was designed/developed by an external agency. What if they used an existing site (say, to do with Stag Parties, etc.) as a template and forgot to change the <title>?

Given that they've used tables for layout...I wouldn't put it past them to do just this...

Hmmmm. lots to look into me thinks.
Yes, it was developed by an external designer.
When we first launched i knew very little about this whole website SEO thing etc. I still don't know nearly enough but am guessing our developer put Stag parties etc as the page title as tags..?
Anyhow, due to your top tips i am in the process of getting it altered (for want of a better phrase).
I'm thinking perhaps a page on its own describing what we can offer stag/hen parties.
The activity is the same for every group, tailoring the level of participation and duration to suit.
Thanks for all you feedback folks

Sorry I mis-read the about us page, so you only offer 'coasteering' in which case you should be promoting that niche...then look at the long tail of 'Coasteering for stag parties...alternative fun' or 'Coasteering for grannies move your bodies'

There are possible crap examples, but my thoughts are make your website the place to go for Coasteering...

    I get it, woooohooooo.

Did an intro course to SEO etc yesterday, run by our local tourist board (FREE!!)
Now all this useful stuff you guys have been telling me makes sense.
    There are changes afoot folks....
Looks like my web developer has been lazy when doing up the meta titles and descriptions, they are irelevant to the pages!
I'm in the process of re-writing some of the page content too.
Gonna add a blog for news, weather, tides, pics vids etc.
Re Tables: can't do a lot about that without a big spend, so gonna go with what we've got.

Thnx for all the help and advice.

Moral of the story for all looking for a new website?

Make sure your PROJECT SCOPE includes SEO on ALL pages when you get a quote...

Saves time and when they say "we are done" you have a checklist you can go through before you stump up the balance.

    (Warning..plug coming on)...

I always provide a FULL project scope and checklist for agreement BEFORE we take a deposit. So come the end of the job, you can check off each point....nice or what

Glad you are on the road to sortation dude. (is that coasteering speak?)

What did you expect to see here?

    Nice one!

Regarding the tables being used for layout - Don't automatically assume that it will cost a lot to convert it to a CSS based layout. Take your time finding the right designer/developer; ask to see any qualifications and portfolio they may have; also ask if they have any testimonials from previous/existing clients - and check them out (anyone can write themselves a glowing testimonial and I've seen it done! Any CSS-savvy designer/developer (let's face it, in this day and age if you don't know CSS, then you really should be in another profession) should be able to convert your site without a vast quote.

Ok, so we're getting somewhere, woohoo
Developer has made various changes, mostly due to your observations.

How important is this W3C validation thingy..?
