You can rank high for those terms if you start a niche blog and blog about things with those terms in it as well as naming the blog 'mobile computing' and adding that as the domain name etc.

    Join blog communities

    blogcatalog.com
    mybloglog.com
    blogdumps.com

etc and do some link exchanges with related blogs

Three blog posts a week and you'll be surprised how quickly it climbs the charts.

    Hi Tim,

I have to be honest that If I were looking for a laptop for my daughter to go to uni with. "Mobile computing" would not be what I search for.

Assuming that I don't go to the usual sites, Dell etc. I would be more inclined to search for something like "Cheap Laptop"

That, unfortunately makes your SEO efforts all the harder....

Whilst blogs add some value to a sites marketing efforts they do not offer a magic solution. When you launch a blog (or indeed join one) you will not make a mint overnight. This is a common mistake by 1000's of marketeers who try and become an affiliate

In essence, as stated by EKM. Whether it is a blog or a static site, SEO is required.

    You need to

1 ID your market place needs
2 ID your place in that market
3 Research the relevant keyphrases to your business
4 Ensure your copy and tags are relevant to the discovered areas
5 If mega competition exists, target some effective long tail phrases
6 Be patient. Get rich quick is a pipe dream for most...
7 ALWAYS CONTINUE EVALUATION. Your competitors do not stand still, nor should you.

You are right, of course - but it might be something a manager who needs to stay in touch with the office or access their systems while on the road might go for. Point taken that it's hard anyway.

Thank you for posting your situation at Mytex on A1BF and of particular interest to me as I am in the process of launching a new online venture.
What was the reason you started the business?
What were your strategic objectives 3 year, 1 year?
You mention 500-1000 visitors a day, and you have 10% of this. How many sales will 500 visitors produce?
If you are interested in talking to a specialist who can bring it for you about then let me know (initial discussions are free).
Imagine you had 500 visitors a day, whould they buy?
Now that you're here (30 visitors a day) what else can you sell these visitors?
How can you get them to recommend you to other potential / prospective customers?
WHY ARE YOU DIFFERENT? HOW CAN YOU BE DIFFERENT?
I would visit Robert Craven's Directors Centre website for some free advice for entrepreneurs - very helpful.

Hope this helps. If you need more info, feel free to get in contact. M. 07853 133543.

I have to be honest..it dosen't look to me like your offering anything new or innovative at all..

When I bought 4 new macbook pro's las year for my sales staff, they came all installed, ready to go out of the box, and there was no problem with cables

You need to show people whats in it for them, at first glance all I see is you re-creating the wheel

No offence is intended so please don't take it that way, just telling it like I see it

    Thanks JackMaurer,
No offence taken - I want people to say what they see.

My only response is that I am not only selling the laptops, I am selling a bundle of kit - so that's a laptop or netbook and a printer if required and a case to meet the customers needs. I put them all together and provide the assembled kit to the customer with appropriate software pre-installed.

Now, if you got that sort of "bundle" with your macbooks, then fine, I have a competitor - which would be good in many ways as I could learn from them. If you just got the computers alone (even if they had software pre-installed) then thats not what I offer (though, of course, I could).

    Cheers, Tim.

Thank you for clearing that up, when looking at it from that side of the coin, no, we had to pay for all the added extras.

I think you need to really focus on the package side of things, where your website has "The Focus On" I think you should have at least 4 different packages on the homepage which potential customers can choose from - then a call to action on how to order and your payment gateway.

The biggest problem your going to run into is brand recognition, as I'm sure your aware the IT market is extremely lucrative and competitive, how are you going to separate your services from people such as PC World or Comet?

    Hope this helps somehow

Thanks again JackMaurer. Guess what - I have just updated my home page which now has 7 of my packages pictured in a slideshow. I hope it's better than it used to be.

There is lots still to do but with everyones help on this thread I hope I am getting there - still no orders but I suppose it's early days.

    Cheers.

    Hi
Just wanted you to know that the site is definitely looking better, all the hard work is paying off.

I still think you could do with grabbing your viewer more - where you have the changing pictures showing the packages could you add the price so people can see straight away that you have great offers. I am guessing that with a product like yours people will trawl around for the best price and if they see your prices straight away it will at least make them look in more detail at what more you are offering them i.e the pre installed software etc.

    Keep that confidence coming
    Katherine
