Default Please take a look at my website

    Hi there

My husband and I have been busy tweeking my website and were wondering if you could take a look at it let me know what you think.

We have recently added the blog. On the services page I used to have the monthly package price which I have now taken off after reading someones comments on another website review about needing to give your potential client a reason to contact you.

Anyway any further suggestions would be very welcome
    Big thanks
    Katherine

I'd loose the ad for 1&1 (or move it to the bottom). It's a bit in your face and distracting.

On the services page you have
"Translation into and out of french" - Isn't the more usual way of phrasing this Translation to and from French? And French has a capital F.

    Also "C.V's" If the C has a . why doesn't the V? And I don't think there should be a '. I'd go with CVs

That made me notice the title tags - make them longer with some keywords, the title tag is very important for search engines.

as others and the graded background does not work, make it a solid colour as it interfers with the clarity of the site.

    Your Header:
Pictures too large, wasting real estate above the fold. On the Profile page I don't understand the use of a building, on the Services page half the picture box is white space. This space could have text for a) readers, and b) spiders.

As a VA, I'd expect impeccable usage from you. Why are there no leading caps on the two strap lines, "virtual assistant services" and " helping your business grow"?

It's a personal thing but for me the Blog link and the Twitter link are both too large, and too cutesy. Move the phone numbers and have the links as part of standard navigation. Blogs and Twitter are marketing adjuncts to a site and not core parts of the site, so shouldn't be overemphasized.

I'd consider rewriting the copy, especially on the Services page, so things are bullet pointed, getting the information across in a scan rather than demanding copy be read.

And, if you could bear it, (a lot of people are camera shy), a picture of yourself on the profile page would personalize it, which always tests well. (If you do use a pic take one specially. Work suit, make up and hair, not just a nice handy snap you have around.)

I would check this and this and this

Capitalise your titles, add in a couple more keywords. And add in keywords into your titles on the other pages of the website.

As stated dump the 1&1 advert, no point advertising someone else and certainly no point advertising a service below your standards.

    Put in a footer menu

Shrink the page so it fits on the screen so nothing is below the fold, ie visitors have to scroll down.

At the moment they scroll down and there is nothing really to scroll down for.

Get rid of the @ and have a written contact us/me details.

If you are a limited company then you should have an address on the website.

Maybe put in what the 'special monthly' packages entail, cost, what you do for that, value that will be added to your clients business

    Hi Katherine

In addition to the above I just don't think the colour scheme works.

Don't ask me why...it just doesn't say to me Professional...

BUT, it is a nice and tidy layout, bit more work needed as you rightly point out but trust me...I have seen much worse.

    Good luck with it.

The content is good but there seems to be large amounts of space at the bottom of each page, more so on the blog. I think these let the site down.
