Default Old Site....fit for new product

Hi All,

I have a very old website that although is still active has very little if any visitors... www.idmaster.co.uk

I am seeking to market my 'Keeper Card' would this current site be any use to turn it towards selling the new product

Is there any benefit in keeping it....not sure how it ranks with google, if at all

Would appreciate any input towards this....My idea is to have it revamped to seel the keeper cards

Regards

Pete

Hey Pete

Think you need your products displayed on your front page. You need to capture their attention within the first 3 seconds of them visiting your site. Each product picture you'd then have a click through to more information, and how to order. Make it quick and easy. No fuss.

That site has a google page rank of 0 if that helps...

I agree with G4B - you need products and good pictures on the homepage.

Cant recall how the page rank works...is 0 good or bad....would imagine it is bad!

I ws thinking of removing the products currently on there and simply replacing them with my keeper card designs.....got a domain for the keeper cards and just thought could point that domain to that site?

Thanks for taking the time to reply

Google ranks out of 10.
0/10 being the lowest rank, 10/10 being the highest.

What is the logic behind using a differnt domain for your keeper cards. Are you taking them off your main site or just adding them to an additional site? I just need to understand what you're trying to achieve before I try to help....

Danielle,

I want to market the keeper cards to a specific market....mother & toddler magazines and parenting magazines

The product is lost within my current site and so thought it be best to simply give it its own site?

the idea behind it is that people would simply visit, select and buy as opposed to going round in circles looking for what they want?

good idea or bad?

I would chuck the site if I were you, though I like the domain name.

Sandra,

As ever a great reply from you....maybe I should keep it and market company ID cards from it?

Maybe just a selection of my templates that companies can select then request maybe a colour change and addition of their own company logo?

Regards

Pete

I must admit it's a lot easier to get a new site up and running than trying to mess around with an old one. In this case there's no google page rank associated with it so you're not losing anything.

Keep the domain and start a new site on it. I think having a stand alone site for the keeper cards is a good idea - easier to tailor it specifically to the desired target market too. If you need any help with the keywords for this, let me know.

I actually think the name is a very good one indeed Pete. And yes, like the idea of using it to promote company ID cards.
