Hello All,

I'm looking for some feedback on my site. I know there is still a lot work that needs doing especially on the content side.

I'm very keen to know if people think it's user friendly and i'm looking for suggestions on how i can improve the site for the customer.

All comments are welcome and please be as harsh as you like as harsh comments are normally more effective.

The site is a bit to thin for my likeing, if it was me i would push your banners stating the prices out to the sides and bring the welcome to myprintuk up. Also on all sites i prefer to see the payment methods towards the top right of the page not right down at the bottom

Your site is a maze of bright distracting colours and they eye has to work very hard to know where to look -

A confused customer does not buy

Also there is something about the text sizes, and colours that looks a bit amateur.
I am not convinced I like that site = but take a look at 1shoppingcart.com, to see colours and text sizes that give a more professional look and feel.

There is very little text focussed at keywords that really matter so SEO is at present a non starter.

Some of the sales messages are good - but overall just one message comes over - you are selling on price...not a good place to be!!

And some of the sales messages that you should promote (eg your testimonials) are buried so deep nobody can see them

You should have a button a panel that says "see why our customers love us" as a link to your testimonials - also the testimonials could be etter presented.

And As a customer I have no idea how your prices compare, and the only way to find out is to leave your site , and there is the problem - you make no attempt to capture them. They leave, and they dont come back

You are also wasting the most important real estate on your site!!

What to do?

If this was my site this is what I would do.


(A)

First you are in a competitive marketplace yet you offer no reason to shop with you.!

So you have to find a reason.....and make that the focus of your copy.


So I would use a prominent head line and dull down the other colours to make
people read.

I would put a face on the site....looking towards the headline to make it personal
Maybe even an audio...

Well I am not an expert in seo or copywriting but from a customers perspective here are my thoughts.

Home Page

I open the link and see the bold background colour, not too much of a problem as it's a printing site.

Header image is nice and works against the blue background.

Don't like the t: and e: it just looks sloppy as though you couldn't be bothered to type Tel: Email:

The buttons/links on the left - by the time I get to lilac with white text I can't read them. They also look fuzzy. Now compare those to the bullet points under the welcome message with black text, easy to read, look crisp and works much better with the pastel colours.

Boxed images at the top, I cannot read a single one without my eyes wandering to another, there is just too much info. What worries me most is that the images are not clear and crisp, so what on earth are my printed leaflets going to look like?

Love the bar with free delivery on all orders - that got my interest.

Bottom part of the page is all crisp and clear, nicely set out. If I look at the small free delivery image on the bottom left there is a big smudge behind the V, again a very bad omen for my printing. You really have to sort the images out.

Downloads and Tools

I like the way the buttons work but am rather confused by where you have things.

For example the how to design a leaflet I would expect to find in information not downloads and tools.

To be honest it looks as though you only had upload artwork in there and wanted to pad it out.

Reading how to design a leaflet - nicely worded but there are no images, nothing to inspire me to have a go. Got to the bottom and pressed continue and went back to home page - is there more to read or not?

Information

Am getting a bit frustrated now, the info on supplying artwork is in a different place to uploading it. I think your categories are all wrong, I would like to see one for how to supply and upload artwork, one for testimonials, other info - it needs to flow and currently it doesn't.

About us - friendly and quite well written for the market you are going for but so many grammatical errors. You say you provide a professional service and yet in this small page I see:

Customer testimonials are awful, there are no company names so I can't check if they exist. For all I know it might be a list of your mates.

Design Services

This takes me to the home page. Not impressed.

I have been right through the site and the only image I have seen is the box on wheels. I have seen none of your work, nothing. Why on earth would I buy from you?

My main points are:

There is no portfolio

You say you are professional but have so many grammatical errors I am seriously going to doubt that.

The images are not clear and sharp, so I would worry about my printing being the same.

The navigation is confusing.

If I was a real customer I would have left the site 15 minutes ago (a few seconds after landing there).

Sorry to sound harsh but with work the site could be very nice but a print/design site that doesn't show me their work ... forget it.

Thanks for you comments, and your are totally right. We have neglected our site. I will make sure that over the weekend i dedicate time to fixing these errors and hopefully when i have cleaned the site up you may have to time to look at this again for us.
