Wow now I wasn't expecting such a huge change - very erm striking. I am not a fan of balck backgrounds unless people are selling ipods and lcd screens I am afraid, I find them very hard on the eyes.

Working from right to left (because I look at the centre of my screen first)

Right box

Love the wording, short concise and gets across what you do. Personally I would have bullet point marks to differentiate between the services but now I'm just being picky.

Middle box

Love the wording but not sure I understand the image, does a company want to go in 3 different directions? Would it be better if the 3 roads merged into one main road suggesting that with your help you can get them on track?

Left box

Don't like the font for the telephone number makes it hard to read.

I like the logo, it is sort of corporate but still a modern smaller business feel but is that what you are after? The whole page now has that feeling but I am afraid has lost a little of the 'stuffy' look a professional financial service probably needs.


Would prefer to see the left and right boxes the same background colour. Would also like to see it centered in my screen, not left aligned.

I know you are going to hate me but I preferred the other site, it just needed a new more dynamic home page and a few tweeks here and there, basically to move the information around and a bolder logo.

And thank you so much for such a quick and detailed reply.

It is a drastic change but I spent a lot of time looking at other sites for debt collection, consultancy etc and thought that this would be a good pitch as otherwise I would look too samey and I really don't want that as there are not many agencies out there who can do the full range consultancy and analysis aswell as the collections. They tend to be one or the other mainly or not cover as broad a spectrum. I really want to focus primarily on consultancy and collections as secondary. Also want to look corporate but small and def modern in terms of approach as areas I will be looking to go into more are consultancy which involves change of traditions/habits in a lot of cases and also modern IT software for collections and so on.

The pic was meant to show choices of directions to go in but might not be the best choice of image if that was the impression you got

I also want to get it centre aligned (but cant find how to do that... arghhh!)

Maxine have just been sussing out your competition and if I put in the right search term you don't have too much to worry about, they virtually all look like blogs but I thought this may provoke some thought on your part.

With my "I need help with credit control" head on I have searched for sites that made me stay and look, rather than click away and this is what I liked:

this was my favourite, although I don't like black pages. It just screams professional service (although of course they may be scumbags - I don't know). The bullet points with ticks are so easy to read. You get a snippet about them to build trust, a testimonial .. again builds trust and that is before you even scroll down. It just has a clean cut look about it, which is what you want in the financial sector.

Scroll down and you get the click through for the book but could easily be for an offer or newsletter. Directors message, contact details, heading saying ethical and professional .... who wouldn't click through to see what they offer?

That is all really, because the rest have a whole page of text and sidebars with ads they look like blogs - maybe I was just spoilt by the express one?
