The categorie bits on the left hand side, under the bottom one is there some missing? (Do you like the technical words?)
It is a bit boring, a lot of words, which is good but for someone like me who wants to be captured on the first page it needs something else, a bit of oomph and pazazz maybe.
You say that Google hasn't indexed it yet, has the been indexed forum? If I am correct as they are joined together and there seems to be a lot of activity on the forum then Google should be spidering his way round there just like he does here

Thanks Nicole, yes pics are without doubt needed on the home page.
I can't work out what is going on with google, I have tried searching for his name and horse handler and still coming up blank on google
I have just manually submitted it and put it on webmaster tools to see if I can find out what is going on. All I can think of is there is a no index thingy somewhere (see I know technical terms too )

Here is Fuzzy's and don't forget my favourite word is honesty.
Hate the colours and logo, just doesn't do it for me I'm afraid. Doesn't look professional at all and guess this doesn't reflect your brothers work. Work investing in Kay me thinks
You need something else on home page, just the copy is boring.
Love the about us page, I can get to know the guy.
Testimonials are wicked, but you need to break it up with some pics or something as after the first one got a bit tedious. Why not photos of the horses and their owners concerned ?
Love the gallery, even though I'm not a bit fan on horses.
Love Fuzzy

The reason why your brothers site isn't indexed yet is because is is going through ...easily.co.uk and is framed in the browser so it always has the same URL but infact its classed as an easily site. This is the actual URL of your brothers site http://ebasic.easily.co.uk/00E033/043001/
The buttons are correct size in IE but in the other browsers they are all large or sometimes a mixture depending what page you are on.
I am not keen on the colour scheme. Does really feel inviting.
The logo has a good basis but think if he got it done professionally then it could be brilliant.
I have no idea about horses but from reading through the about us and testimonials it really does seem that your brother and his wife do and make a great team and really know how to treat the horse and the horses owner.
Its just a shame they cant get a professional site done.
Home page a disaster for three separate reasons.
- One SEO night mare - do some keyword research
even if you were indexed, nobody ever searches "horse handler
" and there are no <h1> tags or reinforcement of the keywords
so start doing keyword research for things like "horse training" and find the right balance
between volume and competition
- Second design nightmare!
totally unappealing!! - no pictorial content whatever
it looks cheap and nasty and that will radiate to customers
- Third sales nightmare
the copy does not persuade people to do something!
there are great testimonials that are not brought where people can see them
there is an active forum - though you would never know it.
a big gallery, but no mention of it
So at very least the homepage should be a roadmap of what to do here....but it should
also sell his undoubted skills, even if just with a testimonial
YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT I WILL SAY...give them a reason to sign up!!
Put a crack video of training of one aspect of horse behaviour and ask for an email address to see it.
Or the 10 part ecours on horse behaviour free for a sign up, delivered weekly
What to do???
-I would recommend you
(a) Put some thought into the home page as a routemap for the site, selling the ecourse, and otherwise make it look attractive!
(b) Set up a BLOG with postings strategically picked for targetting specific keyword traffic - and use a plugin to create a sitemap
(c) Promote the posts on netscape, digg and stumble - then google will find yhou.
(d) This is the sort of subject which will get good traffic from articles - provided titles are correct eg "3 worst mistakes people make training a horse" that article will get picked up by others.
(e) Go grab the web2 properties on related subjects on a big heap of sites including hubpages and squidoo
(f) Create the simple ecourse, promote and deliver
OH...and posting review articles on recent books by experts on your blog, can be effictive in getting traffic in niches like this
