Please take a peek at a site I did for a friend.
Inspite of being highly ranked for things computer in the Kent area it attracts very little sales or repair jobs.
1) The first thing I thought was that the table on the homepage with repair & installation prices makes the site look 'cheap' and not very professional.
2) The next thing was that the table didn't explain what the service was or more importantly the benefits of teh service to the customer. However more info is held on additioanl pages but the wording from within the table didn't have any links though to other pages.
3) GK computers logo - the image looks fuzzy as if it's been resized or isn't in a high enough resolution - again by amending this it might look a bit more professional
4) Not sure what the cd clocks bit is all about - looks a little strange in that position on the site and it distracted me from what the site was actually selling
5) on the 'refurbished' page - only the top computer has any text next to it. Also the pics are quite low quality on here too.
6) 'upgrades' page - no content except for header
I think you're lacking content - no indepth info on anything. It seems to me like it's all overview headline info like product name and no descirbtions or content to engage the visitor.
I'm viewing in IE7 - in case there are content on pages I can't see.
Definitely doesn't look pretty...looks amateur. Does that put people off ? I say that because a lot of people know nothing about computers and I think are suspicious of anyone that says they do...unless of course they are a big "trusted" name like PC World
What im trying to say...if I wasnt in the know I would "trust" this one more than the one you listed.
Another thing that might be putting people off is the prices themselves, they seem "cheap"
Of course...it could be none of the above and it could be just the title is in all CAPITALS
I'd suggest as the web increases its reach as the standard way of finding products and services it will become more important for websites to look the part if they want to grab the business.
