White on black is hard on my eyes, though the general layout looks good.
The background image jumps around when I scroll, which is *very* distracting. Not sure if that's you, or me using Ubuntu/Firefox 3.
I am not getting that problem at the moment, I will downlaod FF 3 and take a look.
But if that is the case I cant have it jumping about I may have to go back to the drawing board.
Its amazing though, I can design and develop good looking sites for my clients not a problem but when it comes to my own site I find it so difficult to design and be creative I just dont get it.
well I disagree that shed loads (or boat loads!) of text is best. Its pointless getting high up the charts if the visotors are turned off when they arrive on your site.
I might be totally wrong...but it seems many Americans are comfortable with huge amounts of text that in a way we are not in the UK. Cultural difference that Google does not quite get?

Well if your a wise old cookie, you put all the juicy bits of text and info and what your flogging at the top of the page.and all the mumbo jumbo for the search engines a little further down the page.
As long as youe visitors read the bits you want them to who cares if they ignore the rest, unlike our friend spider bottom who will devour everything on your page.
and when he gets back to HQ to report,He tells the CEO "Guess what I found this cracking site that tell you all you ever wanted to know about the world of "Widgets".I fink its so bloody good and informative we should make it No 1 for "Widgets".
Im just saying that whilst it might work for something with 6m serps and 2000 visitors a day, it isnt quite that easy for somehtinhg with 2b serps and 20,000 visitors a day, thats all. I truly wish it was and not for want of trying. Id be the first to hand-feed you hob nobs and champagne

join the club mate.
I've been redesigning my site since november, and I've worked on about 5 concepts. Each time I finish one, I think..... nah I can do better.
I think the problem is emotional attachment. You want to create good sites for your clients, but your emotionally detached (heck you have to be as they will often change alot of things you may have liked). When it comes to your own site, you have free reign, and its very hard to orchestrate (is that a word ).
I like the new design, its an improvement on your old one, I'd like to see semi transparent content boxes so the background images pokes through
