You want to know who you are buying from and with the web - its one of the most important things. Instill trust in the buyer is about developing your brand identity along with reputation.
There is no about us page.
Contact details, UK tel and address found in the privacy page and not the contact us page.
No special offers (always one to hunt for a bargain)
The animated gif banner does not entice anyone to do anything
Why should I buy from you?
Thinking about the above statement really helped us nail our new site which works really well according to our market research.
I don't have the £500 that McAfee are asking for so I cant put their logo on my site, tbh I have no money at all which is explained in another post elsewhere...
Im starting to loose all heart in the project and close to giving up
I cant say "get it delivered in 48 hours" because its going to take 7 days... 5 days for paypal to transfer the funds to my bank account and then upto 48 hours for delivery - I can't apply for credit accounts with suppliers as I have no accounts and no credit accounts elsewhere
Thing is - you are in a very competitive market. I think that you have some work to do just to meet the level that is to be expected. If you set your mind to it, it is certainly possible to achieve.
If "get it delivered in 48 hours" cannot be a USP then look at other ways. When I order online, I do not always look for a fast delivery. Amazon once took 2 weeks to deliver a product to me.
The project is not too bad - you just have to work at it
Study your online competitors and compare that to yourself.

Why do you need to withdraw from your Paypal?

What was said was constructive - and nothing on the list will cost a lot of money
If you have traffic you CAN convert it!
Question - HOW much traffic do you have? It is important - because kay and I may make you an offer to do something valuable free - all part of a "hush hush" thing project we have.
Just look at the list...
(a) Get a name, address, and telephone number - that alone will help convert.
(b) Stop using round pound prices ....change 1400 to 1397 or 1417 or something
and make sure you either include or exclude VAT specifically
(c) Make your delivery terms explicit! - Dell used to take 2 weeks , it isnt a killer but people want to know!
(d) Also Get a face up on the site - and my suggestion is use it as the face on an online help desk ( free scripts available to embed if you look around) - you could equally put it next to the phone number.
(e) Put credit card logos UP!! they are free!
(f) And here is where Kay and I might help....get a more professional header graphic
I think just the above is enough to convert some sales.
Then
(f) Look hard at your compettitors to find a USP
What traffic are you getting and to what terms?

Yesterday I had 35 unique visitors - not a lo; but considering the website isnt even indexed with Google yet and referrals are from forums and Froogle...
Also, VAT isn't mentioned anywhere becaue I pay the VAT to the suppliers, because I am not VAT registered...
Because I dont have a merchant account so I cant buy Protx or any other Gateway - and the computer industry is classed as high risk thus bumping up all the prices, so all I can really rely on is PayPal and PayOffline and possibly bank transfer - but that seems a little bit drastic...
Why dont you pay BT £1.50 a month for a 2nd number - not a 2nd line - a second number. It rings on your same line but has a slightly different jingle to the tone so you can identify it as a busness call rather than a personal one on your normal line.
If you make it so your bedroom or another room is your 'office' and keep a 2nd handset in your office or at least, just go out of the room the baby is awake if you just have one handset. Also, all the messages will bounce to 1571 if you dont take the call so you just need to check those after you have been out.
You could also put a sentence next to the landline number - "only account queries are dealt with over the phone - for all other queries plese email us at xxxxxx.com." People dont necessarily want to call you up, they just want to know that, should they encounter a problem, they can speak to someone to sort it out, thats all.
These are just cheap ideas you could implement pretty quicky and very cheaply.
