I'm a 20 year old entrepreneur based in Manchester. I am passionate about business and entrepreneurship. I have just launched ThinkBowl (.com) It's a free social network designed specifically for people like us who want to discuss business and form useful business partnerships to make projects succeed. It's totally free and is evolving into a more and more useful business tool.
my first impression was that the site looks cheap, the logo is pretty poor imo (it seems out of focus) and the bubbles make the site look very dated.
I know you have the bullet points at the top, but in the first 10 seconds I cant really figure out what the site is about. Also, now that I do know, its tricky to find where i sign up, make that more obvious as users are your currency.
Id look at improving the site layout a bit, it looks like Drupal, and if so you should be able to make a really nice looking, easy to navigte site
As a final point, there is no indication of whether the site is live or not? ie no content that immediately makes me think the site is buzzing and im missing out by not joining. How many members are there, latest discussions etc. id consider this as people will only join things that are moving in my experiance.
I don't think the appearance of the site is too bad. It wouldn't put me off.
What does put me off is that it appears that there is hardly any content on the site. You will have to seed it with some content of your own, to get people to sign up.
Do I really have to register to look at the links page?
To be fair the site did only launch just over a week ago (that's why there is no number of users on, because there is not enough to be impressive yet).
Any siggestions on what makes the site seem moving? When theyre are more people constantly using it, it will show popular topics, it's just theyre are not enough people yet.
The links page is still in development due to the site being a full walled garden. When it is completed you won't have to be.
