Thanks again to everyone for all the useful information: it's obvious I have work to do and I'm grateful for all the suggestions.
I'll try and make some temporary changes to improve things in the short term, and will sit down and have a think about where to go next with the site. Just shows the dangers of doing things on the cheap!
Cheers
Brian
It does look a bit spammy... also I do think you would benefit from not mentioning either US Dollars or Asia... also the fact that you can't buy online, will turn a lot of people off because online shoppers want to buy online without the hassle of waiting for an email reply… finally I’d say that personally I wouldn’t be able to glue hair on my head and tieing seems odd, so maybe people just don’t know how to use it?
You need some better photos of the finished results. Embed a well produced video on the front page - users are more likely to hit a "play" button than follow a text link to youtube. Underneath put a headline price ("from £2.50") and a big "Order Here" button.
Once in the shop area you can worry about explaining the finer details of the product - colours, styles etc.
And I didn't realise you don't have a proper shopping cart/payment processing facility. This is a must for any size of online retailer - linking to Paypal is very easy.
