One thing I noticed is that there are no prices until you put something in your basket.
Or if the prices are there they are nor obvious
mamos
Yes, this is an issue at the moment but should be resolved soon

All was well until I got moved into a different web site to place an order.
Not as seamless as you would think nor would it stand the test of a very untrusting, web savy customer who may want to spend big...every customer lost costs you money and all that.
IMHO, grab a shopping cart (some easy to use good ones out there, checkout mine at mlg, I use a very well known flavour and it is a piece of pish to customise and I would help you along the way if you needed it, also Phil's on here seems pretty damn good), put your design in it and off you go.
It just does not look right nor feel right for me, a bit of a bedroom trader feel by using this method. Sorry to be blunt, but you did ask.
Oh, and SEO til your heart's content, using this cart option will not be an easy nut to crack (another script benefit is that many are seo'd out of the box..with a little help)
Just had a quick look and the first thing that struck me was the rollovers on the left hand menu. When you scroll over them they are faint which to me (don't know about others) would normally point to that catagory/ all catagories being empty of products. Maybe you should go with a different colour (bold) instead of what's there now??? A minor issue but may put people off clicking to find products if they think there's nothing there to look at!

What shopping cart package do you use?
I've had a look at magento and oscommerce but i must admit my php is not up to scratch which i belive mose are written in. My HTML and CSS is ok but haven't used php since uni.

I must admit that having a secondary site for the shopping does look a bit dodgy and i just need to persuade my MD to change his mind on the current setup.
I currently have 400+ static pages which have been SEO'd in some form or other (some poorly so far) but i understand the benefit of having our 20,000+ products dynamically generated.

I would make better use of the top "header" area, at the moment it is a very forgetable website, which you dont want. You want something striking an memorable about the design of the website so that people remember you.
Also when a website has a "DIY" feel to it, customers are less inclined to spend, they need to feel reassured that you are a professional company and they are going to get a good service.
I would redesign the top header area to make it bright and professional looking.
I use Actinic mate and have done so for many years.
If you need help on design/SEO relevant to the software, I am here to help dude (over 2k support posts on the act forum to date). I have ran the software for many years so I know how to butcher it if needed
