Default SEO Blog question, can you help an old man

Hi ,Its the grumpy old man again. Can anybody help me. I have a blog on my home page of my website that I update regularly. I find it a good way to add short bits of content and keep the site fresh for google seo. But what I need to know is ,if I start deleting the earlier blogs, will google penalise me for removing content. Another question is ,my first paragraphs on my home page. I have allways added to them, but never completely replaced with new paragraphs for fear of it affecting my google position. What dya think. Give an old man a break.

    Don't delete them, archive them.

IMHO. They will continue to add to your long tail effectiveness. Look at them as the pages that just keep giving (or paying board)

Yes why would you want to delete them? For space? As Daren says, archive them

agree with the two earlier replies.. don't you want to at least have them still on your site? it's nice to take a look at them for some time.. but indeed, if you really like then archive is the best. just my two cents.. ^_^

hi guys, (and gals) thanks for your responses. What about my content, is it better to just add to it, or does google just regard it as stale if I leave it up and dont take it down occasionaly

    Stale...no

As long as you keep adding fresh content, the old stuff will 'ferment' nicely and add value to your site overall.
