Default which title is best to promote

hi guys, Here is my question. When I type in my targetted keyword for my webpage , google comes up with www.cornwallfurniturerestoration/ in the organic listing Does this mean that they consider that as the best page title. The reason I ask is because I have been promoting www.cornwallfurniturerestoration.index.htm which is the same page Am I promoting the wrong page. If anyone could look at my site,my concern is about my home page." / " or ".index.htm" thanks in anticipation

the first link doesn't work with no .co.uk on the end, or did you forget to add it?

hi indizine. yes that was a slip up. What I am trying to say is that I have been targetting some links to my " .co.uk/index.htm" , but google is pointing to my ".co.uk/" page. does this mean it regards the ".co.uk/" as the preferred page, and consequently I should be targetting that adress to get maximum seo. both adresses are the same page. I would be gratefull if you could advise me on this. Thanks

it's indexed both versions then, though I can't say why it's bringing up one and not the other. I only use .co.uk version (root domain) and all others, (including non www version) use a 301 so that I have just the one home page that benefits from all the links coming into the home page.

So when you create the link to your home page, instead of putting index.htm just put /

    eg
    Code:
    <a href="/">Furniture Restoration Home</a>
