SEO advice for my Target E-Commerce Keywords

I know your all busy people but I need your help

...I have decided to go after Pet Supplies and Pet Products as my keywords for the home page. Obviously this is a quite a competitive field so need any / all the help you can give me.

I know about... site: and link: for Google to get info about competitors sites, is there any others I need to know about??

I realise my links are pretty bad at the moment but im working on these.

What else can I do ?

Hi Chubster

The Yahoo links query will give you a lot more information than the Google one. Try searching Yahoo for linkdomain:www.pet-supermarket.co.uk

I would suggest identifying some paid directories that have a category related to your website with a pagerank (any will do) and post your website to as many as you find, this should give you a bit of a boost initially. Also worth noting, is ensure your link building is kept steady, if you rush it to begin with and then get bored, so does Google and your links will go stale and you'll slip. Consistent link building is key!
