Hi all,
Nothing really to boast about, but we just went up a notch today.
Check your PR value on your web site. You may have an early present from Santa.
Good luck - Mike Dove

Website maintenance.. Website updates everyday!
Guys,
Well done on the PR increase, but PLEASE try not to pay attention to it.
Toolbar page rank is so old when it comes to the data - the fact you've seen any change will be data that is at least 6 months old.
"Real" page rank, which cannot be calculated by us, isn't between 1 and 10 - it goes up to a really high number.
You can have a toolbar PR of 0 outrank a PR 2 or something, so please take it with a pinch of salt.
Sorry if I sounded like I was raining on any parades(especially as I'm new here) But people get green bar addiction

Page rank updates occur roughly every 3 months.
Many people rightly or wrongly still consider PR as being important.
Take this forum for example. It has a PR of 4. If say it had a PR of 0 then a lot less people would sign up. Alternatively, if it had a PR of 6 it would be inundated.

I am not sure I understand what you mean Mike, as the PR value of this page, or ever this website's home page bares no relation to whether I or anyone would sign up!!???!!
It is the content, and whether it provides the service it sets out, is what matters.
Sorry wood1e, I was being far too general.
You are quite right, content etc. are most important for the majority of people (and quite rightly so), but PR value is the icing on the cake for some people and for others it can be a more important factor.
As far as UK business forums are concerned I think you will find that the more successful ones (in terms of sign ups, SERPs and hits), and that includes this one, have a higher PR generally because they have more and better content (amongst other things).
