Could anyone explain how to turn Google Search History off? I've logged out of our Google account, Gmail etc., and can't find it on the Google Settings page.
Does it depend on your browser?

log into your google and select 'my account' and in there is a list of options, one being 'web history'. click on that and paus your web history and also delete all the previous history it has saved. You might have to go back in and check again, as mine took 2 goes.

Great, thanks, Indi.
As I don't use a Google toolbar (and obviously I should) I don't have a Web History to pause or delete (yet).
Does that mean that my Google searches are not biased (as discussed above)?
must not be them I guess, yes. What made you think they were? Usually logging in and out confirms the difference.

I've been 24/7 trying to improve a very simple site's SEO and the results are too good. If I test it out with a neighbouring business' PC, using a different ISP, the results are nowhere near as impressive.
I realise that different ISPs can produce different Google results, but the difference is exceptional, so I thought this may be an exception.
Ive moved this to its own thread as it has been discussed before in another thread and worthy of its own discussion.
Maybe it is saving your searches regardless. So if you have no web history, turn it of anyway, log out, then log back in and check your results. Then log out and check them.

It could also be tracking your IP address, or have dropped a cookie.
In your browser, start by deleting all saved content, including cookies.
See what the results are like then.
Then try using your computer but on another network (if possible) so that you have a new IP address.

The chances are your web history is affecting your searches to some degree, you can download a tool for firefox that disables search history. give that a try if you want to see where your really ranking for keywords.
Dont forget that there is one google datacenter with the new caffeine update on?
Have you tried using a different browser on both PC's?
