Good evening, I sell an online product to teach English, Language Garden. I am talking to a number of distributors in different countries. My question is about databases: who owns the list of customers that a distributor sells to, and where is it stored? I have a system almost in place where all are stored on my server, but one distributor in Brazil doesn't like this idea. Would this be a common objection? Thanks.
I presume it comes down to the contract between you, Brazil man distributes so he pays you on distribution, not on where he gets it from.
If you control the client base he can be thrown away at anytime.
So whatever the norm is for distribution, I as a distributor would not necessarily provide you the supplier with all my client contact information.
